I picked this bike up a while back to upgrade, but it really didn't have the hard 'hit' I expected. Nothing really else to say except I'm selling it to get a 2000 CR for the arm-ripping acceleration. $100 off if the buyer is in the club. Just passing on a good deal.

As I have told billy before, I am not such a big fan of the "yeeha ride em' cowboy" hit that some/most 2 strokes have. I am going to be unloading my 125 very soon to afford a street bike, but will be getting another dirtbike in the fall. Still debating the 250 vs. a 250f. I am more concerned with smooth power delivery than max power. So if you still have it around then.....

Tomas and Chris can kiss my ass
First off, I have never been "anti street bike" chris. I would have bought one before my truck if my parents wouldn't have pulled the plug on my tuition. I am very lucky I didn't though. I am glad I got dirtbike before so I am used to the controls, I'm not disagreeing that it is very dangerous, but moreso when you don't feel comfortable on a motorcycle period. Dual sport is still a consideration Brian, but I doubt it will happen.
In summary, Chris is jealous because he is too lazy to get a job and any sort of disposable income, and Tomas is blinded by Festivas becuase there is soon to be 3 at his house, not of which work.

Sorry for destroying your thread Shawn, but if you see a clean F2, F3, zx6-r, or similar in the next couple months let me know.

My neighbor just got a new 2005 Triumph Speed Triple. Very toight. When I see things like that I briefly consider getting a job, but then I quickly return to my senses. I have to enjoy a life of leisure for as long as possible before I graduate and am forced out into the real world.
Oh yeah, and you were very anti-streetbike.

I've got tons of other stuff I need to do before I put it in the trader (like selling the KLR), so I doubt I'll get around to selling it before fall anyway. Obviously your welcome to try riding it whenever you come out, so you can see if you like the power. I like the hard hitting older CR engines (which is why I sold my YZ, among other things), and this moter just didn't have a hit.
I'm not sure how much your planning on spending on a street bike, but I'd suggest first riding my V-strom to figure out if you want a V-twin or inline four. I like twins, and the 'strom is a good example of one with the Remus Ti's, powercommander, and TRE I just installed. Ultimately, I'd go to the dealer and find a bike that fits you well, is comfortable, and looks good. Most people don't realize this until a few years into street riding, but a good street rider on a GS500 or equivelent pee-shooter can out run most guys on race bikes on palomar. But if your aching for a rice cooker, I'd suggest dropping some green on a newer model. Right around 2000, bikes started to get really good really fast, kind of like dirtbikes in the early 90's. I had a CBR F4 which I really didn't like, way too buzzy and slow handling (the older F's are the same). But Anna's R6, as much as I hated the seating position, was night and day better and an amazing bike. An older R6 will cost you around $4500 for a good condition bike with low miles (her 2000, 20k mi beater ran $3600 a year ago), but they are almost as good as the new R6's and well worth the money. My personal favorite bike has to be the RC51 though; easily the most powerful and smooth V-twin motor ever made, period. Oh, and the SV650S and 1000S aren't bad either.

ya v-twins are still the beaut's i love there sound but never ridden a ricer twin, anas R6 has won me over as by far the best-fitting (not according to sean) and most nimble with some wicked power all around good bike

I am ignoring my squidly urges to get a bike like an R6, I simply don't need that crazy fast of a bike. The reason I am looking at bikes like older CBRs is because I wan't something I can hang onto for while, and not feel limitations like I am sure I would an a ex250 or similar. I am however, very open to suggestions and have a ton of decisions to make. I would like to spend less than 3500 in the end though.

The bike will be going up for sale later on this week. But last chance, if a rideclub member or an immediate friend wants it with a no hassle transaction, I'll take $2600 (thats with just replacing the ECU at a discounted price of $120). So, KBB retail is $3700, trade in is $2550, my price $2600. Any takers?
