You need that bike like a hole in the head. The first decent Triump Speed Triple (the one everyone wants) was made in 2005, and those can be had used for less than $6k (Triumph resale tanks hard). Before that, their speed triple was OK at best and plagued with mechanical and longevity problems, all of which were costly to fix. In other words, this guy is looking for someone to take a problem off his hands. Why else would he kick in the laptop and helmet? Probably need to keep the laptop duc-taped to the passenger seat to just keep the bike running while riding it.

If you like the look of the bike though, check out the 2005+ bikes. Unlike the SV, they have a timeless design and are a bit more comfortable. It's a bike I wouldn't mind having, if I actually rode street bikes with any frequency.

Well, no one jumped on it, so I bought it. Not for myself, but for Anna, as she wanted a new ride for the track and the V-strom is about to be sold. It's one heck of a nice bike for the track, but not really great for street use like what Ken is looking for. Missing it's blinkers, odo and such. Plus any wind protection whatsoever.

Hey Jesse, after your 'mishap' with your SV, was the radiator still straight? The rad. on this bike is bent up pretty bad.

Not sure if there are any other pictures I can post. The bike really is what it is, but it definately needs some work to bring it back to good condition.
