Marking Topics read

On other sites when you read a thread, you can hit the "delete" button to go back to the previous page, and it marks the topic as read. However, on this site, when I do that it is still marked as "unread". Is this just a Mac thing? Can you change the site to fix this, because I am too lazy to move the mouse to the Forum Index button and would rather just hit delete when I've finished reading.
