I know you've been dying to come out with us Sean. Lets hit it up. Need to fill up the gas tank for the welder so we can finish. Let me know whats up peeps!

My friend John will not be going due to a Crane Operator's Certification test. I think I will wait too then, so maybe I can start on my cage this weekend or put Tomas's bumps and straps in. I want to wait and get all the newly done trucks out at the same time and bring video cams with us to capture the test runs...

07-26-2005, 11:37 AM

That's what we're hoping for. John's truck will definately have it's braking set up complete. And hopefully Lucass will have some funds for the dez. But we should get a big group together, all two of our 4wd guys too and burn some stuff out there. Leave about 10-11 am next morning.
brian
07-28-2005, 02:11 PM

bomber
08-02-2005, 12:59 PM
Well Jesse since u know our lock combo for the garage, u can come and work on stuff anytime, hahaha. Are you ready to drop it off? Call me whenever u want to bring it over (assuming it'd be in the afternoon bc we both work) and I should be there or be able to get there. Let's get the trucks DONE! This season is gonna be so badass....
jmelrose
08-02-2005, 03:44 PM
damn I should have wrote that combo down  I'd be in there all the time. Shit, I'd stop payin rent at billy's and just hide under some boxes at night.
Haha, yeah I'll call you after work today Jose maybe I can drop some stuff off. Need to make another trip with welder and other tools. Thanks BK for the hookup on an extra bottle.

Ok so I figured that the best plan is for everyone to meet at the Arco/Jack in the Box at Lake Jennings & I-8 around 3:30/4PM. I would like to leave early because we have several newly built trucks and it would be nice to test them while there is still light out. That way we can easily see critical parts on the trucks much easier, not to mention if someone were to break.
Also, I know Tomas, John and myself have discussed just driving for 2 hrs then coming home. I would like to stay at least 4 hrs, but then that means sleeping 1/4 of the way home while driving, lol. If this is the case then I will not bring wood, due to the fact that we are not going to be sitting in one area for a while. Let me know what everyone thinks about how long they want to stay out there.
*Keep in mind that by 8:00 am it will already be hitting the mid 80's.*

so now you only want to do is stay out for 2 hours then drive back? my dad, brother, ryan and i are going to stay the night and leave sometime around 8 or 9 in the morning. it would just be not be worth it for me to just go out for 2 hrs because i know my truck is going to use alot more gas there and back and plus im bringing my quad.
i can get some pallets from work if we need them.
meeting at the arco/jack in the box sounds good i will be there sometime around 4 if things change let me know.

Wait, I feel like I took the short bus to commute to day and the world blew past. So, there is going to be a truck outing this Friday? Thought you guys wanted to get your trucks done first? Not that I mind going out or anything... :D

I want to break my frame in half before all the suspension goes on. No, I will not be taking my truck out there, I'll be bumming a ride if there's room. Hope to get started this weekend.

08-04-2005, 06:35 AM
jesse if everyother truck is full you can ride with my dad and brother there i 3 open seats in the tahoe. we do have to get started on your truck on your truck as soon as possable.

jose i told you that i have to be at the airport at 6pm so meeting at arco at 3:30-4 does not work for me. Also the driving for 2hrs was only for allowing trucks to not be competely beaten on their "test runs" but i agree that only being there for that amount of time sucks. I vote for staying long and just taking it easy here and there.
....spiers said he would take his truck and bk is going too. Im pretty sure Ken is still coming, though ilya can't cause his dad is in town. Jesse you can hitch a ride in my truck only if you made every effort to get yours running and it just couldnt happen

I am going to go too. Just not sure when I am going to leave. Most probably late with Tomas because I'll come back from another trip only in the evening.
I got my new springs installed up front, I'll see how they will do on the bumps. We can test the winch too!
By the way, about spring installation - took me like 12 hours due to how long it takes to compress and release stock and especially longer replacement springs with a spring compressor [I actually had to use 2 at the same time on the new springs] that one can rent from an autoparts store. The cool thing is that renting them is free as long as you bring them back on time - 2-3 days. I still have add-a-leafs for the back waiting to be installed, but I think that might be a bit easier.
Anybody who wants is welcome to drive to the desert with me. However, I'll be driving back early in the morning - around 6 a.m..
Give me a call if you want to go with me - 8584140781, leave a message if I don't answer.

But my truck will definitely be there for the sand dunes and for rides there. Maybe me and ilya can go exploring for a little while the prerrunners go bombing whoops.

That was a fun trip. Lots of little problems, but when all tires were rolling the good outweighed the bad. My truck can't idle at all now after ripping the Idle Air Controller's sensor apart.
BTW, did anyone get pictures or video???
brian
08-08-2005, 08:18 AM
good times, but definitely need glass or bed sides pulled in the rear, and probably a good idea to get a bumper made and skid plates to protect the naked steering up front. got home from work around 4-5pm on sunday, and i just woke up.
long travel is very sweet.
